Hey y’all and welcome! My name is Amanda Hunt and I am TheNextGenLibrarian! I am a Library Media Specialist. This is my 18th year in education. I was an elementary librarian for five years, before moving up to middle school where I found my passion. Look below for some of my credentials, badges and certifications. I am also the Secondary Lead Librarian, Secondary Gifted and Talented Facilitator and the PBL Secondary Team Leader for our district's training team.​ I love becoming proficient in new #edtech, best practices, and information literacy. I enjoy presenting in my district, as well as state and national conferences. I love sharing about what’s new in the library world, reading and meeting authors, as well as sharing my passion for literature with others. I am the outgoing chair for the Mavericks Graphic Novel Reading List Committee for TLA. I am also the past chair for TxASL Talks Editorial Board and current TxASL Councilor through 2024. I was a TLA TxASL Media and Visual Presence (MVP) Honoree for 2021 and 2023, and the Branding Iron Award 2022 Winner for Digital Only Communications in a School Library. I am currently serving on the Conference Planning Committee for the TLA 2024 conference. I am on the Bylaws Committee for TLA and the Operating Procedures Committee member for TxASL. I am also on the AASL Committee for Operating Procedures. I have been newly elected for the Cybil Award YA Speculative Reading List Committee for 2023.
